The more powerful engine with cooling system, transmission and front axle of the larger model Mégane R.S. 275 Trophy-R in the Clio, that already guarantees a great performance. For the development of this vehicle, the departments Renault Sport Cars and Renault Sport Racing have teamed. It was presented with the free training of the Grand Prix of Monaco.

Celebrated is the 40th anniversary of the Renault Sport. Name and color originate from R.S. F1 model 16, with which Renault returned into Formula 1. The new car is in the tradition of the Clio V6 and the sporty R5-turbos. Of course, within the sales success the price also plays a role.

A Clio R.S. already exists, but its capacity is now exceeded by 54 kW (73 hp). For the cooling system of the Megane R.S. a reconstruction of the front end was needed. The modified exhaust system partly comes from Akrapovic. Modified suspension and adjustable racing dampers round off the image.

By sport seats with 6-point belts and huge roof spoiler the Clio R.S. 16 emphasizes to be rather a racing than a sports car. Consequently it doesn'T need neither rear seats nor air conditioning. But it has multi-reflector headlamps, combining all known types of luminaire. The next stop of the presentation is the Goodwood Festival of Speed in June. 05/16
